my mate is lookin at buying a pathfinder or terrano as the import ones we get over here are called, an early one about a 91 model. he dosn't want it for wheelin just to tow his boat , he is after a 2.7 turbo diesel one.
any one have any tips or things to look out for , for this vehicle?
Rust in the rear floor under the rear seat arround the setbelt mounts and
in the rear wheel arch ,again next to the S/B mounts. An expensive repair is required to make this legal again ,I think including certification.
Try and avoid the auto's, they are a bit weak and a very dear repair.
If he must have an auto , make sure he has a large oil cooler fitted to the vehicle to help extend it's life.
An excellent vehicle and the only turbo four of that vintage that I have not had the engine apart on.
