What are the problems everyone talks about with the S1 rockhopper???
As I only plan to go 30 or 31 I think it should be enough but I'm a little scared about the problems that it seems to have and that I don't know (I did a search but always the same: "They have problems" But, Waht are those problems?)
A thousand dollars is a big difference betwen series so I want to know before buy one or save more for the other.

Rockhoppers
If you only wanting a stage 1, have you considered building your own rock lobster transfer case? It may work out cheaper for you then a S1 rock hopper, just depends on how much you can pick up a 1 ltr transfer case for. I have heard that they are pretty much the same ratio as a S1 rockhopper. I don't know too much about them, apart from you mix the gears from your 1.3 transfer case and the 1 litre transfer case. I think you the 1 litre t/c needs to be from a 1984 or later model though.
Just throwing up some more options.

no worries. A warrenty is always a good thing. There are a couple of threads on it. Just search for 'rocklobster'. Also, the following webpage maby helpful.

I don’t understand where you guys are getting your prices from but the S3 from Big Balls Motor sport is only $1249. Only one has broken that I know came from their and it was because of a dodgy transfer case to begin with. Gears don’t like sand apparently!
As for S1 their has been reports that calmini hoppers are tough and little talk about them stripping teeth. If you don’t want to get it sent from America they are available from overkill4x4 and M&M engineering. Further give Liam a call in regards to the S1as I think he may have changed supplier, or he will be able to explain the history so that you are much better prepared.
