BJ42 leaf spring tighness

Post by Swifty »

Hey all, just checked the u bolts on the rear of my BJ 42 and noticed they were not all that tight. I nipped them up but just wondering how tight they should be? Just firm or tight as all F*#%* ??

Thanks

look at the spring perch on the diff there should be a hole in the middle with a round bolt head sticking through and at the bottom there should be a nut sticking through the bottom plate that the ubolts are done up to

if there missing replace em only 10-20bux for a set of 4 but get proper center bolts cause there high tensile

Nah sadly mine isn't the LX. Aftermarket turbo makes a difference though. Now must get back to it and finish pulling exhaust manifold off to replace gasket.Putting it back on is tomorrows cruiser job. :? Hopefully next week its roadwothy and registration time. Hooray :D
