Hey Guys,

Just wanted to know what is an acceptable Oil consumption for a TD42 Non Turbo.
Last night I topped up my oil, managed to get in 3/4 Litre after 2500 k's since last change, this seems a little excessive to me :?

Also, what is an acceptable minimum oil pressure at idle when hot, in the Gregorys manual it states 11 PSI, I usually retain about 16 - 20 (mechanical gauge), but I was reading an older thread and someone suggested any less than 25 PSI is death !!!

Old holdens used to run2-3 psi at idle so 16 psi is mor than enough for idle. The pressure reading when under load is more critical.

Mine used 1 litre for 1500klm towing a boat with me & 3 mates & all the gear & 340,000ks on the clock.

When empty it may only yse 1/2 a litre per 5000ks.
