Flaring Late Model Sierra Guards?

Post by BundyZook »

the other day the cops did me for having my tyres sticking out the side of my guards and wanted to know if anyone had flared there guards themselves? i really dont like the look of flexy flares and dont want to pay $600 for fiberglass ones. i think if i bring the lip out and then style them out a bit it will cover so any ideas? i dont want to rip all the paint work off when i do it either so things like pliers are out of the question(already tried).

What if you take the flares off and put a spacer with moulding or filler to move them out a bit? I havnt done this or anything, just an idea, has the potential to look really good or really gay.

How much was the fine? how far out do your tyres stick? should I expect to be pulled over soon?

What model zook is this for? By your sig I am assuming it's a WT so you should already have the steel flares on there. Generally the only way to extend these is by using the flexy flares as you mentioned. You could make some sort of spacer between the flare and the guard but that would look sh*t IMO. You're not going to be able to bend anything without cracking the paint off either. So basically you'll need flexy flares or cough up some coin for a wider flare and replace those ones altogether.

One thing you might want to consider is taking off the steel flares and selling them if they are in good nick. You should be able to get decent $ for them which will offset the cost of buying the other flares.

This is QLD cops are dickheads up here. i will try that spacer thing as im pretty handy but if that doesn't work i think the flexy's are going on. or might try and make some flexy's? any over done this?
