Fuel consumption questions

Hey guys,
I know this question has probably been asked a million times before, but i am wanting to upgrade from my feroza to a GQ, but before I do I want to know what I'm getting myself into with petrol prices the way they are at the moment.
Basically what engines use what amount of fuel. I am leaning towards short wheel base. So 4.2 petrol, 4.2 gas, 4.2 diesel. how many liters per 100k's or whatever?
Thanks
Dave

My GQ TD42 LWB with 33's and 4.1diff ratios runs at about 12.5l/100k (city and highway).

Well with my feroza 1.6l efi with 31's i only get 11.5 - 12 l/100k's. So if i can get 13 out of a 4.2 diesel patrol, its really not that bad when you consider the weight difference.
Thanks

i average around 13l 100k also in my gq diesel wagon but considering the outrageuos cost of diesel now a dual fuel petrol six or a V8 on gas would be just as cost effective i think and sooooo much more GRUNT
.
that said i love the diesel reliability but for an urban 4x4 and not an outback tourer i'm thinking of a V8. either way you can't go wrong with a gq.
