Hi all,

A mate of mine is looking at a 1980 auto CJ7 but wants to know what to look out for. Any advice is great.

Rust in Windscreen surround
Rust in tub in particular new the cowl
Rust in the frame
Cracks around the spring hangers

All the normal 4x4 style checks

Being a 1980 auto it will be a quadratrack check for signs of the chain being loose ie put it in 4 low and drive a bit letting on and off the accelerator just make sure this is done on a loose surface :)

they are a pretty tough old beast but poor maintence is there enemy like any 20+ yo 4x4
