ok, maybe the gearbox/transfer i'm getting doesn't have a transfer handbrake.

mines got the h55f in it.. and no.. no transfer handbrake sorry.. :?

also got the workshop manual here for the diesel 40's and theres is no mention of a transfer handbrake for the h41, h42 or h55f or the g40 and g52f transmissions either..

dunno if that means theres none out there though..

H41 and H42 definately have transfer mounted handbrakes...

i don't think 5 speed cases have them though

i have heard one bloke LOVES his trans brake and another HATES his trans brake mine is in drums in the back and does ok.

the following $0.02 may not be entirely correct
3b needs split case transfer case
you might have trouble finding a transmission brake for it.
marks adaptors do a conversion kit you need to shorten rear shaft 3" to fit it. the conversion usually costs around 1500 drive in drive out, but it sounds relatively simple as long as you can mod the shaft check their site

i reckon the 5 speed same story with the split xcase

anyhoos i reckon the handbrake is best left at home when you go wheeling :D

fair enough, looks like i'll be using the standard lux handbrake. unless i decide to booty fab a masterpiece transfer mounted disk handbrake.
