Another happy warantee customer here - a few months ago I sent mine back after about 9 months use because one was blackening up inside. They paid postage I think and sent me two brand new ones straight back. Had a different breather design - now no need to run those tubes into the engine bay.

Yep, one of mine developed a hairline fracture and shipped about 200ml of water within 3 months of purchase. It was never bumped, but was vibrated a fair bit.

LightForce replaced it no questions asked, and I haven't had any trouble at all with the new one.

Just a question.

Everyone raves about the warantee on the Light Force Lights, but should there be so many failures of their product?

It seems from this thread and others on the topic that many of you have made claims for one reason or another on your lights. OL is only a small population and the sample size perceived seems to reflect a fair amount of problems.

I don't own any lightforce lights, but would be keen to hear peoples opinions on the said topic.

The reason they changed to the new breathing system is because the tube type system wasn't working correctly..
Well thats what I was told anyway.
Peter Culley told me that mine was the first one he had heard of doing it but from this thread alone I think I might have been fed a couple of white lies.

All in all I am happy, how can't you be when someone backs their product up this much??

As mentioned above I havent had a huge chance to test these new lights but I also havent heard of anyone having problems with the new version either.(the type without out the tubes for breathing)

Just my 2 cents

So which is the new design, mine have the black tubes with the little white things at the end.

Good to hear LF are good to deal with.

One Q. What the difference between the 240 Blitz nd the 240 XGT?

My original ones had the tube style breathers like yours. The replacements have no tube, they have some type of material on the back which seals it for up to 1mtr of water.

The XGT's are waaaay expansive but apparently worth it if you drive interstate etc.

they are a different type of globe (xenon or something) and have a seperate power pack type thingo.
I really don't know anything about the xgt's but if you don't wanna spend $1000 get the blitz's...

Yeah OK, I've already been to the web site now and have the pdf's the only thing you get is the XGT wins best light blah blah blah, but nothing to tell me the difference between this and the Blitz?

Is the difference cosmetic, the case does look like the HID, it's certainly nothing like the 140 and the 170.

Gotta love the HID, wish I could justify it!

I had a set of 170`s for like a few years swapped lights between my 4x4 and Mack truck, ran into a few roo`s out near Moree and broke the mounting bracket, rang Lightforce to try and order a new bracket(after not happy with local distrubter) they asked for me to return both lights, even though i did have the reciept and they would see what they could do as the light shouldnt of broken. Well 2 weeks later i recieved a brand spanking new set :D ones with black tube and stone filters i have since only had these on my Hilux but have managed to hit 2 roo`s,couple of trees and a feral pig :? and they are going fine .Only thing i have had to do to them was wash them to try and keep them clean ;)

The XGT's are based on the 240 blitz with the HID case. Basically its a non-adjustable 240 blitz.

Running teh 240 blitz - bought em from Cheesy - love em - no issues once breathers set up into the engine bay, love the adjustability, love the different lenses - love teh fact I can drive up a river Bonnet deep and they work the whole time - No issues.

I've clipped trees. bumped into concrete tec with them and aside form moving them back into position - they rock!!

Splurge and buy a set!
