Help from the tyre guru's please

Post by fastest »

Hey all
Happy New Year to all...
After much looking I am going to buy a set of Coopers S/T's, What I would need help on is my car has 265/70/16's on the Nissan alloy ST rims. I am thinking of going to 32's or 33's! Will they fit the rims or would I have to get another set.....

Thank you and have a safe new year :D

285/75/16's will fit not a problem if the rims are 8" wide.

I'm guessing the standard rims are 16x7?

265/75-16 are nominally 32", and are commonly fitted to factory rims which normally wear 265/70s.

For 33s I presume you mean 285/75-16? Cooper Tires list 8" as minimum width fitment, although some people do fit them to 7" rims. ProComp X-Terrains list 7" as minimum width for their 285s. Personally, I bought new 16x8" rims for my 285s.

Does that help?

Cheers,

Scott

PS I loved my S/Ts - you should be happy with them.

my dad TI patrol came with 16x8s so you might have em too?

these were the alloy rims so they are possibly the same. i think on the middle of the rim it should have something like 16JJ8 or something like that. have a check and see what is written.
