When you leave Fraser Island there is a car wash not far from the barge.
You drive into it and water washes your rig like a normal drive in car wash, BUT.......................
it has MASSIVE under car water pressure ! It feels like it will lift your rig off the ground !
I used it on my old Lux. It turns on and then you drive in. But being a petrol Lux, as soon as the high pressure water sprayed under the rig and into the engine bay the dizzy got soaked and stalled the car. I was only half way in !!! But some guys behind me saw what happened and pushed me in !!
It is (was) sign posted on the way back from the Barge

i do the same bingham, but the place i always go to is right next to a cop shop. one day after a hard core mud run, i was hosing the several layers of shale mud off my truck when cops heard all the noise and came to investigate. after a two minute yarn, mainly on where i was wheeling, the cops told me that it was a good way of cleaning your truck, and if i promised to hose all the mud down the drain, the nice policemen said to use it anytime, as they couldn't see a problem with me using it. not one single mention of "improper use of a firehose"... maybe if i was doing something stupid.
indubitably

.... infact i think the place i clean at love me as concrete out the front is alway 10X cleaner when i leave than when i get there, free cleaning and saves the apprentice a job and ensure fire hose is in safe working order!!!
A community service we are doing really..... people that complain are the same as people that winge about 4wders and mote riders in forestry, im pretty sure they would rather we break into their house or get a spray can out etc instead of having some harmeless fun..
Some old lady upped me on the weeknd when on a mates motee while taking it for a ten minute ride. I was annoyed but for the greater good polite and we moved to another area away from where she was walking..
Walkers get obviously walkways riverways parks streets etc etc and we get tolded to Pi## o@@.. from forestry.... but you get that,,, thats my off topic winge for the day

as long as you wind the fire hose back up properly. i got told that they need to be rolled up with the water on and the nozzle off...this is so the hose is stored under pressure, this apparently prevents it from disintergrating. just a helpful note anyway, id hate for a hose to break while trying to put a fire out, and then those nice cops remember that you used it and they remember your no. plate too

until the day someone who cares sees you and decides to push the issue of the fine that using fire equipment for incorrect purposes carry.
You'll probably find most fireies are happy for you to use the fire hoses as it flushes the system for them. This has always been my experience anyway, but as mickyd said you need to roll it up properly after each use. I've even had some fireies do some fire drills on my rig at work for a bit of fun...
