drivetrain lift
i am thinking about doing a 2" engine and gearbox lift and was wondering what problems i might run into. will the horseshoe x-member need to be modified?
i am running 3" spring lift, 1pc tailshaft and single cases and its a '95 single cab and 2.8d
cheers

With a single case you should be fine.I think Guts is running a 2" lift but i dont know if his Tailshaft rubs. Mine rubs with a dual case and with the Snake Racing crossmember i had that was bent real bad i guess i was prob running a 2" lift.
Im now setting mine up with the Tcase lifted 5" and a flat underbody but i will be removing the crossmember totaly and building a new one to suit.

Im in the process of doing a drivetrain lift too.
Im building a new crossmember for my lux thatll give it a 40mm drivetrain lift to match my body lift.
Do any of you guys that have done it recon that Ill need to make engine mount spacers as well?
Im thinking my horse collar crossmember will be fine. I have a two piece tailshaft so Im hoping the angle wont afect the front half much. If I get any vibes Ill just toss it and get a one piece made up. I have IFS so the front driveshaft angle should be no problemo as it sits pretty much flat anyway.
So is there anything else I need to know?
apart from the fact that I should cut out my IFS and SAS

well I still havnt got round to lifting my drivetrain yet (yeah yeah I know Im slack )
BUT...
I have found out that snake racing sells a 40mm engine mount spacer kit for around $120.
So I think I will lift the motor as well and keep stuff level.
Paul.
