Anyone heard what the hell is going on with these new ADR's that will be released within the next fortnight? Just rang engineer dude in Wagga less tan ten minutes ago. He went off, rang RTA and said about the following:
Height restrictions for everything will be 2" body lift and a suspension lift of 2/3 of original OEM suspension travel.... The vehicle also needs to pass a 1.64 metre lane pass at 88k per hour within 2 seconds.
Thats it. If any more than this, then the vehicle will be off the road (if RTA dudes grab ya)
Trying to get my old rig engineered before these friggin things come in to play. So... anyone heard any news?

Is that for everything or just anything thats not engineered?

new adrs for 4wds
If they make it an ADR then it can't be made retrospective.BUT an ADR takes precedence over an engineers certificate every time.It will more than likely become an RTA regulation, testable by RTA and local police.

Sounds very familar to what they are enforcing in WA. However the height restrictions is 2" max. see this post http://www.outerlimits4x4.com/PHP_Modules/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=33697&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0
If this is the case then we in WA may be able to get higher lifts Also looks like the lane change test is conducted at a lesser speed (110 k/h in WA)
