BJ40 repair or sell as is

Post by mauricem »

Ive got a 78 BJ40 which I let the rego lapse on, (just use it for around the property) which I'll need to sell to help finance a larger vehicle.

It has some rust in the floor pans and where the front pillars meet the floor but otherwise is pretty good. Mechanically seems to be no probs and as far as I know has only done low klms. Ive had it for about 5 years.

Im trying to decide if it will be worth spending $1.5k approx on rust etc or just sell it as is. From what I've seen fixed up with rego I should get close to $5k or as is under $3k. Its pretty standard kit except for extra fuel tank, bull bar, tow bar and ladder and roof rack

Any thoughts much appreciated or recommendations for body repairers around the Nambour area on the Sunshine coast

cheers
Maurice

you'll probably find a seller faster if repaired... no one likes buying into bodywork, but you risk spending hte money and not getting full price for it... i'd still say fix it
