22R alternator issues

Post by sierrajim »

Does anyone have a wiring diagram for a 1990/91 hilux 22R?

The alternator was not working, replaced it. Then it's wasn't charging, replaced the fuse in the regulator box, now it's over charging.

Replaced the regulator, still over charging. I've been told it's in the wiring between the alternator and the regulator.

Need some help please.

i HaD similiar problems with my 4 runner. In the end i just bought a 120 bosch generic alternator. Put the front housing off the four runner on it and made a rear bracket that bolted onto 3 of the 4 bolts that hold it all together. A bit of mucking round but i have no problems whatsoever and now it actuall can run more than 2 driving lights. there is only one wire that needs to be used as the exciter, the rest can be cut out.total cost about $350

Cheers and good luck
