where can you get the contacts for the wiper motor. i pulled it apart, chipped out the old grease, repacked it, and noticed the contacts are only about a mm long, and not really contacting properly.

oh and there was no wire under any of the bolts on it.

but there was an earth wire under the wiper motor on the parts 55 series i'v got sitting there (and the wiper motor is heaps bigger in the 55)

1 wire for the 12V
1 wire for the switch
1 wire for te earth

sorry i'm not clear enough.

earth wire runs through the windscreen and earths under the dash, it is good.

the contacts (bushes or something i think their called) the little metal blocks that contact the coil bit in the motor, so that electricity is continually fed while it is spinning. they are worn out.

brushes. on the commutator. have you asked bursons/repco for new brushes?

does your wipers have 3 stages? high, low, int.?

pretty sure the earth wire is Blue with black trace.

there should be a wiring diagram in your book and that will tell you your colours. i know diesels used the same colour wires but in a different order.

also earlier models only have 2 stage's, high and low. new ones have the 3 stage. think thats why yours were wrong PC. your windscreen being off a 83 model.

it's a 76, so i don't know what was standard, but it looks like someone added a crude intermediate wiper switch/ dial.

i got them working 99% of the time, regreased the motor, pulled out the solid old grease, but as i said the brushes (sorry) are pretty low... more $$$ once i get it.
