85 hilux diff and brake questions

Post by brad-chevlux »

just got my self an 85 hilux extra cab.

it 35inch BFG a/t tyres. 3 inch body lift and what looks like a 3 or 4 inch suspension lift, it had 2 procomp shocks at each corner (now has one) 2 procomp steering dampers (now one) and for some reason 2 more procomp shock from the top of the axle tubes above the spring leaning forward on ti the chasis. ( now gone)
and a 3.4L odd fire chev V6

the guy i got it from really had no idea about the truck as he got it as is and never worked on it.

first of all it has 2 different diff ratios in it. could some one tell me what the 85 4cyl petrol hilux would have had stock?

it also looks like it has land cruiser brake on the front and posibly rear.
Is that posible??

it has black paint now but at one stage was red. by any chance if some one from the brissy area knows the truck come you tell me any thing you know about its history.
it's been in townsville for the past 4 or 5 years
