NEWNES / LIDSDALE SUNDAY 6 FEB 05
Well, my mate Denis and I cancelled the last trip due to copious amounts of alcohol and large amounts of falling rain which translated into us drinking more beer and playing poker.
But fear not we will be venturing off into the abyss as the title states. Nothing too serious as Denis is new to 4bying.
If anyone is interested in coming on a leisurely drive please let me know.
Cheers
Paul

Well I might aswell get a short trip report started since no one else has.
I (asthmatic SWB GQ) met up at 8am with Paul (disco) and Dennis (no longer virgin wrangler) at five dock BP were we loaded up rip off priced petrol (one hunded thirteen cents per litre) thank god for LPG
Then we headed up the mountains talking nonsense all the way about stuff we plan to do with our cars (tube buggy and shyt... yeah right).
We then had a quick pit stop cause Paul had the shakes and needed his fix of servo cuisine.
Met up with four other cars at the zigzag railway. Luke (mamas jackaroo) Jack (over grown lux) Paul (mud luving rover) and a dude sorry dont know his name (red lux stuck in mud where we found them).
First stop dont know where that was, turned out to be a rescue mission instead. A fellow out riding his dirt bike with friends decided to do an "evil kanevil" and came out very second best, broken pelvis... After a group effort to help this poor bloke (thanks to Paul (rover) for his professional experience and Paul (disco used as an ambo) we then proceeded to the spanish steps.
The way we took to the spanish steps was also very interesting. There waS LOTS of belly massages myself included (log belly rub) and bottomless mud holes.
We played around at the Moguls a bit. Its a lot worse than the last time we were there.
Cut a long story short it was a good day all up! Ill try and post the pics from my camera.
Cheers ,
Rod

Dont expect mere proof to sway my opinion.
Great trip. I was stoked with the extra travel I got with the front sway bar disconnected and the new centre diff lock actuator was brilliant.
Thanks to Paul for getting us access to the Spanish Steps and all the spotting.
Thanks to Luke for not getting too upset about his mum's tail light.
Thanks to Jack for the bog hole entertainment. Damn shame he couldn't make it through any of them.
Thanks to Rod for putting up with my constant blabber over the radio.
Thanks to Denis for finally coming out and getting the wrangler dirty.
And now for the prizes.....
3rd Place - to the broken pelvis dude... I hope he's ok.
2nd Place - Denis... for completing the Spanish Steps on his very first 4by trip.
And 1st place.... (drumroll) - Paul's son for smashing the windscreen with his head. That's one tough little pecker.

Hey Rod. You should organise a weekend in April/May to go to Appin and explore like we were discussing. We could camp... drink... explore... drink
