Things that make it go brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrom

Post by endo »

Hey All

For awhile now i've been toying with the idea of wacking a 5m-ge in my 86 lux and its nearly bonus time, however I think im gonna dump that idea due to the cant be arsed factor :( I dont think the conversion looks so cheap if you cant be bothered doing it yourself. I cant weld, so I gotta get engine mounts fabricated etc.. etc.. Souns like a lot of hassle.... So....

Awhile ago, i think it was on here, someone mentioned that you can stick a webber carby off a XF falcon on to the Hilux and it gave a little performance increase...

Im looking at probably getting a changeover 4yc, putting in a electronic dizzy and if its worth it, the webber carby mod.

Also toying with the idea of going straight gas, although with the lack of gas servos in places like tassie I might give that idea the arse a well (until I can afford to stick in 100l tanks under the tray if they will fit.

So, who has done the Webber Carby mod, is it worth the hassle?

I think u use the 5M-GE upper motor mounts and the 22R-E lower mounts and remove the dowel pin.
