Some re-build pics

Post by RUFF »

As some of you all know i rolled my Dual cab back at XRCC Round Zero in November last year.

Well ive been real slack and have only realy just got motivated again.

I didnt get any pics of this cab when i first bought it but it was fairly poor looking but it was cheap and complete and had little rust.

First i stripped it totaly bare and pressure washed all the dust and crap out of everything.

Then i started cutting the firewall to clear the 38.5/16/15 Claws i run. I ran these on my old dual cab but i plan on dropping the height of this about 4inches before driving it again.

Then the drivers side which i thought was going to be a prob because of the throttle peddle.

This was all made easier because the body was not fitted to the frame.

After welding it inside and out i sealed it up with a rubber spray coating.

Yesterday i got the Bonnet and Fiberglass guards painted.
The guards are only sitting on at the moment as i still have to paint the rest of the cab and doors before fitting and adjusting the guards.

I need to lower it about 4-5" yet as it has come up in the front a lot with the single cab and the 4.4ltr being lighter than the dual cab and 22RE.
I am looking at going to IFS rear springs up front.

Got it running today but it sounds like it may have a bottom end rattle :? :? I bought this second hand but it has 3months warranty but the only prob is they dont have another 4.4 to replace it with so i may have to go with a 3.5. Which isnt such a drama as i was only looking for a 3.5 when i found this one.

I now need to paint the cab and doors which should be done on tuesday or wednesday and then its out to Sams for a full EXO and tube rear end with a coil rear thrown in.

I will get more pics as more work is done.

NAM not real sure about the motor yet as it hasnt got an exhast system fitted so it may not be too bad.

Adrian i havent tried to get the guards to fit better yet as i have nothing to line them up with till the doors go on.
