water in motor
water in motor
A mate drowned his TD42 a little bit last week. After pulling glow plugs and cleaning water out off turbo. It was all put back together and started first go. But ran rough and now seems to have a miss. First thought was that it may be an injector. But after consultation with other it may have bent a rod. His question is. Can they be brought indivdually

If it was me I would probably take it off the road for awhile. But I have a spare car. Where as this one, just needs to be servicable again. And worry about the bigger problems abit down the road when he is fully employed.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY....
pull the sump off (dont forget to drain it first) shine a torch up each bore and pray.
my mates drank too much water a couple of months ago and totally locked - we found 1 extremely bent rod - 1 visibily strained rod and a piston that looked like someone had splatered weld across the top <-- i'm guessing thats whats up with yours
we only replaced the visible damage, lightly honed each bore and all rings because that was all funds allowed. but if its apart, and you can afford it get the head cleaned up and balance as much of the bottom end as you can. (crank, rods, pistons... flywheel and clutch if your going to extremes)
