WANTED : Front bumper or Bullbar for Widetrack
Moderator: Tiny
WANTED : Front bumper or Bullbar for Widetrack
The Ferwoaza decided to say hello to one of the barriers on the F3 driving back from QLD last night :(
Car is fine, just took out the front bumper, but even the indicators still work. Bent all the brackets and folded the bumper almost in half horizontally
Would anyone have a bumper or bullbar they no longer need? Someone may have gotten a bullbar at some stage?

Nope...wasn't even my fault :(
Cruising along in the slow lane at around 100kph (my speed limit thanks to P's). Had no weight in the car at all, not even the spare on (all left in QLD).
Came around a corner, about 800meters up the road on the side was an RTA truck with it's lights on due to a break down. I looked in my right mirror to see if I was good to change to the right lane. When I looked back, all the cars in front of me where locking up, breaking hard, someone had panicked and slowed right down, probably thought it was the cops.
All I could do was stand on the brakes...back end swung out, turning me left and straight into the roadside barrier.
No-one else hit anyone/anything, car behind me stopped in time and made sure I was okay...next problem was I was facing the wrong way on the freeway!!! I ripped the bits of bumper off that were hitting my wheels and reversed up to the RTA guys ahead.
One of them's gone "fuck me! he's facing the wrong way" lol stupid nob. I then had to reverse another 500m down the road following them to make it to the next exist so I could turn around.
Car is mechanically and structurally A1, not a light broken, nothing to any of the panels. Combined, the bumper (steel) and the barrier took the lot (barrier pushed out about 3 feet). So it's a simply bolt off/bolt on fix..thank god..
Scared the bejeezus out of me tho :| If I had of not hit the brakes the car in front of me would have me as a back seat driver, if I had of slewed to the right I'd be in the other lane of traffic doing 10kph faster than me...that barrier was the best thing to hit!

I think that the chassis size is the same as a wide-track, therefore the bar 'should' mount the same.
Only problem being with the width of the wide-track bar, coming out to meet the non-existant flares.....nothing an angle grinder couldn't fix !
As to your other question............yes they normally come with an aerial tab on the passenger side and also 2 mounts for driving lights.
A winch..............whatever you can get one for. It is designed for a low mount winch, but as you know........anything can be adapted !!
BTW - still waiting to hear back to whether there are any or not !!!

A set of wide track flares would fix that

I could always get another aerial tab made for the drivers side then i can mount both aerials on the bullbar

Thanks for your enquiry James
The narrow track and wide track are completely different bar and will not
fit the other vehicle.
Please note these bars are not winch compatible.
Narrow Track (88 on)
Big Tube Bar - Silver Hammertone $1090
Big Tube Bar - Black Ripple $1090
Big Tube Bar - Silver Ripple $1120
All prices are including GST and all prices will be plus fitting
Please be aware that additional freight costs may be applicable to some
areas of Australia.
Notice on the email i got it says not winch compatible but on there web site it says
The ECB Big Tube Bar is available for the complete range of Feroza and Rocky Models. ECB's high quality, popular Big Tube Bars compliment and protect these outstanding 4x4 models. Full winch capability, driving light and aerial brackets are standard on all models
I dont know what 2 think

To my knowledge ARB don't do Feroza's anymore..
Something of interest....MRT make bars for Feroza's, I've got exact prices at home, but they are around 700 for Narrow and 800 for Wide and available in either white (cheaper) or polished. Unsure if they are winch capable. The ECB website says their bars ARE winch capable...*shrug*
Check out www.mrtrally.com.au and send them an email regarding bars if interested. Suggest you ask for their latest Feroza pricelist (be specific, they do most daihatsu's).

Have you seen the new Cheezy Bars ??
Maybe I'll get him to manufacture one for the Feroza - make 2 styles - Widetrack and narrowtrack - winch compatible (of course) to suit bodylifted Ferozas.....whatever you want !!!
He's got a bit on his plate ATM so they might be a while getting done
and will need the dimensions for a narrow track (Marco   )
Have a look at the bar and let me know what ya think !!

anyone with pics of the MRT bar?
The ECB one looks strong, but $1000.......wow....
Do you reckon Wreckers are the best pace to find those $600 bargains?
By the way - who's gonna be first to get one of these for their Feroza...!!

The MRT sold Bullbars are Aussie Bullars made by Rallyspeed in North Sydney ( I think ) By it direct from Rallyspeed - they are a good bar - one of the best Alloy bars around & are Winch compatiable.
Expect to pay at least $1000 for any of the Alloy Bars - that is the usual price of admission
MRT are long out of the Daihatsu game - 99.9% WRX now. Only what they have on the shelf or what they outsource from others - I had no problem with their stuff - quite prepared to support one of the few Daihatsu parts suppliers out there....the Extractors seemed to be OK in Australia - but some of the US guys have reported cracking them, must be due to the extreme cold or something ( Kent could probably shed more light on this ?? )
If I was doing it again - I would be getting a custom one made - probably like the Cheezy Bar Besty is talking about ( ie: like the tube bar on the Project Otis Zuk in 4wd Monthly ) works out around the same price, better angles, unique, stronger - everyone wins. If you are in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane then there are a stack of 4wd Mods places that will make you one - just look up the adds section in the back of 4wd Monthly & ring around....

A big issue with Bullbars is the weight factor !
ARB Bar is pretty heavy, and then throw a winch in it......you end up adding an extra 100kg + to the front end !
Sometimes you can get reduced airflow to the radiator by having driving lights on......a tube bar would allow more airflow, weigh less and have better approach angles.
Tube Bar = Win - Win !!
