as the heading says, will a 60 series gearbox and transfer case be a straight bolt on?

As long as its not a HZJ box your replacing. And> 10/85 has the small idler pin in the transfer. 10/85> has the 38mm idler pin pull the plate off the back of the transfer(the one in line with the mainshaft) and check the big nut isn't loose. This is the main reason the shaft wears out the spline for the input gear in the transfer.
