Harnesses

Post by roverlux »

Hay Guys! I am new to the forum, Yay!

Anyway i have had a V8 Hilux for about 4 months after ditching my old sports car and pajero and i have to say I Love it!!!

My First 'Tech' question is: can i mount racing hernesses (3 Point) in my cab without a crossmember behind the seats? I have some Saas seats and someone told me that the harnesses can be mounted on the seat base. Is this true? This might be a stupid question but hay i wanna be safe!!! Thanks guys. Se ya round :D

within about 10 degrees or horazontal is what you need, as stated mounting that low if you have an accident it can break the seat and you.

More or less without exception harnesses are illegal unless you also have your standard retractable seatbelt over the top. (There are some exceptions, like ADR approved units of which there are very very few)

Check the CAMS and FAI mounting requirments.
