Steering Box Question

Post by ToNkA »

Does anyone know if the later and earlier model powersteer boxes (non IFS) are similar? I rang toyota who told me they were different but couldnt tell me if they were interchangable or not.

I am looking for a power steer box for an LN65 hilux and can't find a box for it. I can get a couple of LN106 boxes, but as above unsure of the match.

Anyone able to shed some light?

Just for you Tonka.

Here is IFS box on left, SA on right (both off LN106 luxs). The bracket below it bolts onto chassis- distance between the two bolts thru top of chassis is 125mm, distance of two bolts thru side of chassis is 85mm.

The 106 Box will bolt up. You may need the bracket under it but im pretty sure it will fit without it.

I think that the one on the right is the one I used for my PWR STR conversion on the 40 for all those interested.
