A standard lux box is strongish if it is in good condition to begin with and you don`t go driving silly.

Alot of people kill the lux boxes when they drop V8`s in because they only drop the V8 in after the rig has done high ks and the standard motor dies.

I`m not in anyway saying they are strong but they can handle it if you want them to.

I have used my standard 5 speed for now but do have plans on going a stronger one later on down the track.

Same goes for the diffs

I had a 253 Balanced, durulite flat tops warmish cam, 350 holley bolted to the 5 speed in my lux

gave it heaps 6 grand between gear changes, burnouts with lsd 4.1 diff

never let go its still in the car

But ive also heard stories of them letting go
