what is needed to put a hilux x-tra cab onto a 4Runner chassis

do the body mounts line up????

is there anything in the way???

any help would be appreciated

As you know with mine elmo the body mounts did not line up. I think they would have to moved even firther back for a an extra cab.

I don't if the is any other way. But chopping the mounts and moving them is easy enough.

I was going to do this when i had a 4 runner, I had a cab but it was to rusty, it now resides at smorgons

but you will need to relocate the fuel tank or run a minimum of 2" BL to clear tank, and you will need to move the mounts back about 200mm from memory

i already have to move the fuel tank cause of the coil setup anyways, and body lift is already in stock

can i re-use the old mounts or will i need to get new ones???

and is there any correct or proper way to get the old ones off the chassis without damaging them???

get a fine cutting wheel and grind into the factory welds on the mounts, then , with a air chisel or chisel and hammer slow break the mounts off

cool, so its purely a strip of weld aound the edge that holds them on, no where else, nothing underneath or the like???

I see you are after a 4 runner frame, if you are shortening your wheel base with a coil swap why do you need to go through the hassel of changing frames

but i was worried about the frame angles, as i'll be shortening it so much to get to the 105" wheelbase i was after, i was concerned that the diff might hit the frame, you know where it angles down, the section where the spring hanger is (dunno what its officially called), i was thinking that the diff is gunna have sweet f all clearance there

and as it'll be registered i didnt want to make my own rear end like that photo, well i would, cause that looks sweet, but i didnt think it would pass

again please tell me if im wrong, i was just thinking

your wheel bas stock is 113, so you need to go forward 8", you will be fine, RUFF's green lux was the same, a LWB frame

What do you mean about a custom rear end, it is still stock frame just bobbed 450mm

i'll have to move the diff forward 11" tho, as im moving the front diff forward 3" as well, thats why i was worried, 11" is a big jump

I think 10" is proberbly the most you would want to go , so maybe it is in order

If your links are mounted to the front of the housing not on top like I have you will be better off again

mmmm thats a thought, i was just automatically gunna mount them on top, didnt even think of having them on the front

might just have to settle on a a slightly longer wheelbase
