How has any ideas how you can get an mq to ride more comfortable, has any one had experience with Freds coil over leaf conversion.
Save your money.
12 years ago I tried lots of things with my MK,
2 mates tried coil conversions, coil plus less leafs.
Removed by both.
They just are jiggly and not well insulated 4bee. You get used to them though. Dropping tyre pressures to about 20 always helped on rough tracks.
When I put an OME suspsion on it did improve. Had to remember to lube the sliders every service time to keep it that way.

If u want ON road confort, a MQ isnt the ideal choise, GQ are better by miles but even they can be little rough from time to time.....
bout all ya can do is put soft shocks in and maybe take a leave out of the spring packs to the small impacts get absorbed better.....

does your mk have suspension seats? if not, then you should install them. it make the ride for the driver and front passenger so much softer. i probably would not be using my mk now if it was not for the suspension seats. when i did my lift. i placed OME shx for the MQ. i noticed that they gave a softer ride.
Putting GQ seats in an MQ makes Rideability much nicer......
they need mods to fit, BUT ONLY VERY SMALL ONES, like so small that anyone could fit them.
Pintara buckets are nice but decent mods required, I run Recaro buckets in mine and there quite confy for me

LWB or SWB? The longer the wheelbase the better it will ride. What tyre pressure do you run? Is it uncomfortable all the time or at certain times? How much stuff do you carry in the car?
New quality springs will improve the ride way more than resetting old springs. Also getting the right shocks for the job will help too.

The question is, what condition is your current suspension in? If it's the original don't be surprised if parts of it have seized. I know when i put new suspension in mine the front right shackle pin was seized into the spring bush, and the rear pin on the front left spring was seized aswell, to the point i had the front shackle off and was jumping on the end of the spring and it wouldn't budge.
Just going around putting in new bushes and getting it back into good working order might be all it needs, my MQ certainly is still somewhat firm, but all the jarring and harshness that was in the ride has certainly dissapeared.
