Noise in 5th

Post by nicbeer »

Hey

I got a noise only in 5th and seems at any speed. I am going to get the front unis done anyway as they going. would this be gearbox/transfer bearings or shaft issues.

you will find it's the rear layshaft/countershaft bearing, common fault on sj 5speed gearbox's

worth changing all the bearings as they have all done the same mileage tho
