Zook Bonnet Scoop
Zook Bonnet Scoop
G'Day,
Just wondering if anyone can inspire me with some pics of zooks running bonnet scoops. Forward & Rear facing ones and vents. mainly just to give the heat somewhere to go. Nothing special under my bonnet, going for the true Ricer look
Also any shots of sierras with rear bonnet lifts, (or whatever they're called) I've seen this done to GQ's etc but not a zook.
Thanks

TOYZUKI 96 coily zook,lux diffs, 3 inch suspension lift,3 inch body lift, 33'sMTRS,series 4 hopper,power steer,twin air lockers,4 LINK front and rear,2 inch spacers(GOT WIDTH)
I've lifted my bonnet to fit the 1.6 8v with weber carby... very simple job.
YOU NEED:
- 2x Chair Stoppers (rubber bits that go under chairs) must fit stock bonnet rubber stopper inside it!
- 2x polyurethane washers (i made my own from a 6mm piece i had laying around)
- Bolt Cutters
- Access to welder
HOW TO DO IT:
- Remove bonnet and put in shady place.
- Remove stock rubber stoppers.
- Put washer inside chair stopper, and stock rubber inside chair stopper
- stock screw should just make it back into the bonnet, so re-attach stoppers with new 10mm height gain.
- use bolt cutters to cut latch for bonnet in one spot of the hoop, bend/open it up just over 10mm and weld it shut with some scrap steel laying around.
- put bonnet back on zuk, but with screws VERY loose... then get a mate to lift the weight of the bonnet right up off the screws as they have about 5mm travel in the holes... so you can get the back up 5mm without any modification!
- dont do up bolts too tight as theyre high tensile and brittle - and the firewall is hi-ten also so it cant be drilled easily if you snap one! (i found out the hard way)
- Voila! slam the thing shut to make sure the stoppers are touching and the latch should engage!
This was perfect to fit the vit motor with no body lift and stock suzi air cleaner with more than 10mm clearance between aircover and bonnet.
once weber was on we cut the bonnet bracing also to fit it better =)

Hey Grimbo upload a pic if you have one... sounds pretty cool!!!
Another idea could also be to elongate the standard 2 holes on the side of the bonnet...
I also had an idea once of massacring the front end of the bonnet and meshing it up to make a scoop out of it. If i remember, ill do a mock photoshop job of what i mean and upload it.
*EDIT* Did it now so i cant forget =P

bonnet scoop
Ive got a bonnet scoop on my suzi. Thought it would solve my overheating problems due to my customised tool box underbonnet and thermofan. Noticed no difference when installed, went back to an engine fan and problem solved. Looks good though. Its a WRX copy from Autobarn, cost $30.
brake proportioning valve
Mine is screwed in and I used a product called Sicaflex. I mounted it behind the clip where the windscreen would fold down onto. Hope this assists.
