Home Made Roof Console

Post by XXL Maverick »

Has anyone out there made their own roof console for a GQ LWB?

How did you get the curve of the roofline right?

I have made up the box from MDF and will cover it with carpet from a car audio shop ( the type they put on subwoofer boxes) Then relocate the interior light to the console and put in my UHF and CD stacker, which is under the drivers seat just waiting to go for a swim.

I just want to know the easiest way to get the curve right without repeating the trying/cutting process 1000 times.

use some thick cardboard as a template so you can trim it till you get it right with no effort then transfer it to the wood, cut cover and fit!!
