Stronger Axles shafts

Post by GV_Qld »

Well after 3 trips and 3 snapped rear left axles in my GV, I'm looking at options for the rear axle shafts. I'm running 31's and F/R air lockers, and I'm snapping them at low rpm trying to pop up small steps.

My options seem to be to replace the rear axles and diff with XL7 parts, but I can no longer have my rear locker....or get someone to make up some axles for the GV in a better material. I also have the option of changeing the sidegears in the airlocker to 27 spline this would give me a few extra mm in dia at the spline. This would be my first choice, has anyone done this? And could someone point me in the right direction as to who I should be talking to about getting this done.

Thanks

Jeff

how much wider are the lux axles over the vits??

the GV axles are about 40mm wider than the Vits.

Luxs are about 5mm each side, so 10mm

given the rims that i run i doubt it would be a problem - my track is a full foot wider right now :!:
