and despite all the descussion I havn't decided .......know a couple of guys that have them and love them but still worried about turning circle in tight situes in comps

lockrite lockers
Got one in the rear of my suzi, only paid $400 from the states for it. It does make noise when turning but great in a straight line. Way I see it, id have to break 3 to pay for an equivalent air locker.
It looks like you've already spent a fair bit of coin, so I'd go airlockers, no point going cheap now, although I run a Lockrite in rear, as I found with my airlocker I never turn it of in the bush anyway, but on your rig I'd go airlockers, or even Haultech's traction control system, if comp work etc. is where it's heading.
I reckon it's the advantage of a positive lock that you can control with the push of a button, unlike a lockrite, and better handling when on road.

yes apparantly the tuck in question is massive and designed to compete...... you would be mad not to get an airlocker over other for such a beast,,,,,especially in the front!!!

in c omps for sure go air if not get a lokka,,,, work supprisingly well but definatelyt not for comps particualllarly in a patrol!!!!!! turning circle of a sherman tank

Ok I think lockrites are ok for most people, But they only add to the carrier and do not make the centre any stronger. There for you are locking the diff and adding a lot of extra stress to a standard centre with bigger tyres, extra traction etc etc etc etc
Detriots and arb`s replace the whole carrier and are alot stronger then the standard centre, there fore making up on the extra stress from the bigger tyres, extra traction etc etc etc etc etc
There is a reason that arb`s and detriots are dearer then lockrites, its because they are way better in more ways then one.

i have a locright in front when 4x is not engaged seems to turn fine [as far as i can tell . i run 36x15x15 ] when you engage 4x4 turns like a tank . so it's kinda like a air locker in a half assed way

a mate racing his cruiser had on in the front and if your idea of changing two gear sticks in quick concession is fun...go for it......he hated as he lost to much time chnageing in and out of 4wd in tight stuff.......

You would be nuts to get one for a comp vechicle. You push your vechicle a lot further in comps and you will regret not being able to disable it without going into 2wd.
You will also make the cost difference between that and an airlocker in CV's and what not.
I have one in the front of my daily driver 60, it is a pig to steer when your exiting creeks and what not, I can totally see how people break CV's with them. You get bite when releasing the clutch when under drive and a small pull on the steeing to the side freaked me out the first time I used it.
Airlocker on the front would be my choice if the money was not an issue.
But do not let me put you off :) I am very happy with the bang for buck from my lockrite.
Also don't expect it to be an easy install without shimming or lapping unless you know for sure your diff is within tolerances, I had to get mine lapped at the same time, which was about $350.
