Which wire to which injector??

Post by Hybrid »

Ok was rewiring the commo v6 in my lux today and I'm having trouble finding which plug goes to which injector. I could just go by the length of each lead but thats a bit dodge. When I looked up the wiring diagram in the manual it shows all the injectors running off the same two wires? They are all the same colour in the loom. How can this be so. Wouldnt that mean each injector would fire 5 times to many per cycle or is the signal to fire given by something different?

they should all run on the same wires...it sends a certain voltage which controls how much the injector opens...you have all the injectors going at once...beyond that it works the same way having a carby would work and get a steady flow of fuel into the intake tract...

Thanks for that. I often think myself into corners rather than thinking things through.

Yes, the early V6 Comodes were "batch" fired injectors - all joined in parallel. "Sequential" injection is when they are pulsed and wired individually for each cylinder, I believe late model ones now work this way (possibly from when they intorduced the Ecotec badging?)
