Hi...
First of all congrats for the wonderful forum going on here. Without a doubt the internet is the biggest encyclopedia yu can find, made us all much more aware of our rigs problems and solved the smart ass bleed us dry tht some mechanics are...
This is a copy of a post tht I put on pocuk (pajero owners club in the UK), not been having tht much luck. Hope you guys can shed some light on these subjects:
" I there...
It has been a long time since I've posted, but always watching like the big brother...
Wonderfully happy with my swb mk 2 2.5 td int paj, very reliable machine, tht has been taking a few poundings and in tip top shape still... Only bought it for 2nd vehicle, for offroading, very different scenery here in my area from what yu have in GB, mainly rock and steep climbings on the woods...(if yu tell me how, I´ll post some pics of my ride)
The main reason for my post is tht I´m thinking of importing an swb mk 1 from germany (cheap as hell) v6 3.0 to keep in the garage to probably swap the equipment from the 2.5 to the 3.0 v6 (need the extra grunt for offroading), and probably affording it, an SAS. Can it bee done????Will the rear axle support the arb lock???
- Alloy wheels with 33x13,5x15 maxxis mudzilla
- 4 OME shocks with OME springs and OME torsion bars
- K&N filter
- rear ARB 100% lock(originally didn´t came with neither lock nor lsd)
- 5 cm bodylift
Been hearing lately when climbing steep hills the front transmission am annoying trrrac trrrac, trrrac - been told tht normal on ifs type of vehicles, probably the hubs need replacement... What do yu think????
Sorry for the huge testament but nowhere else i´d hv this questions answered...
Thks in advance
Best regards "

The sound you describe is likely to either be your hubs or your CV's. A replacement set of Manual hubs is around $200 Aus, but I don't know how much CV's are.
As for the SAS thing, there are a couple of good posts up the top here, they've been made sticky's. One is titled "the Jabber Renaissance Project", from Bitsamissan (Frank). Frank is the bloke who knows!
The other is titled SAS Started, and it's from J-Top, who also seems to be very knowledgable on the topics!
Cheers, Dean

Hi Tas_Dean...
Thks for the reply... Also asked here how much the hubs were, came to the sad conclusion is about double what yu hv down under... What hubs are talking about, are they Aisin ones???
The CV´s what are they, most certainly another name here in Portugal, but are they the initials for what???
Regarding the SAS it´ll be a project for the long term, not able right now (couldn't survive without those nocturnal and weekend rides), also the euros don´t want to have nothing to do with me...lol
The main question is wether I would be able to stock my 2.5 td and apply all those euros spent in the, shall we say, mk 1 89 or 88 3.0 v6, ARB rear locker, OME suspension kit, bodylift, rims and 33x13,5x15 tyres???
Again thks...

Aisin Manual Hubs, Auto Hubs are far more expensive.

CV- Constant velocity Joint, the joint on either end of the driveshafts that connect the front hub to the diff in an IFS vehicle like a Pajero
