BFG's

Post by bogged »

just called tyerpower, askin price on MTR and BFG.

They wont sell BFGs anymore as "the last 2 sets that were faulty BFG wont warrant at all"...

One set wore out in 20,000klms by some tour operator, and BFG said bad luck excessive offroad use. THESE ARE OFFROAD TIRES!

He said lots of places will tell you this now, anyone else heard this?

Man if this is true from BFG, then either they'll loose alot or will other companies try the same??

Also bogged thought all Tyre Powers would be roughly the same price, thanks for that will ring around between them also now.

BLACKBURN 176 Whitehorse Rd 3130 9878 4511
was the cheap one.

This store used to be a BIG BFG retailer, but now apparently they are Exclusive to one company - it isnt Tyrepower which I thought it was.

They are always cheap.

I got 4 swampers balanced there about 6 months ago.
The guy took 2 hours to do it (balanced so close to 0) and only charged about $20.

Sounds to me like someone is making a bigger mark up on another brand. I havent heard any real bad reports of BFGs wearing out this fast. I think if this were true there would be a lot of users on this forum and the other Aus Forums complaining about them.

Have heard they wear out faster than the "OLD" BF's but nothing anywhere that bad.. if they were, they would be off the market by now, nobody would buy em!! 20,000klms aint much...

Also reguarding the excessive offroad use. It is possible. I got less than 10 thousand out of a set of 33" JT2s and my last set of 38TSLs i wouldnt have done 500KLMs on them and they are Half tread.

ive heard and seen many that have got 50-60 out of bf at where they used to get 80+, and every tyre place i have seen will say they definetly dont get the huge milage they used to, but 20k ??

on the other hand i saw 2 sets of coop at the other week waiting on warranty claims - 20 & 25 k respectively.

i give up - who knows what to believe nowdays

Just went down to this Tirepower in Blackburn (are you allowed to call it black these days?) and they balanced the MTR's..

Great job, fast service, although they are only a small place, the bloke is very willing to get business (EG GOOD DEALS)...

No shit kinda bloke, says how it is on wear and stuff on both BF and MTR and coopers..

Talk to Michael down there, his prices on MTR and BF's are about the best Ive found.
