central locking help needed

Have just fitted an immobiliser into my patrol, hooked up the central locking but driver door does not lock or un lock. All the others do thow.
Any advise please.

I bet if you remove the panel on the drivers door you will find a switch but no motor.

It is common if a vehicle does not have remote central locking they only fit motors in all the other doors as you are unlocking the drivers door with a key anyway.

What happened if you unlocked the car from the front passenger door pre-immobiliser?

If necessary you can get a slave lock motor from Jaycar for about $12 and they are easy to fit.

I have two of these from a central locking kit we used on atwo door.
one has 5 wires the other has 2.which one do i use and how do you wire it up?

FROM MEMORY!

Usually there is a switch on the back of the door barrel(drivers door) which sends a signal to the control unit, as well as the button on the arm rest.
This door doesnt usually have a motor so you dont lock your keys in.
BUT i reckon that if you mount the 2 wire unit to the drivers side door and connect them to the wires on say the back right door, you should then be able to use the immobiliser to send the signal to the front door.

If you use the two wire one you will need to keep the switch however if you use the 5 wire you can use its switch. It requires more rewiring but will make it easier to mount the motor.

The way I wired my old 1991 Pintara Ti with no drivers door motor was to use a 5 wire (master) motor and removed the factory switch. Then I connected the alarm to the drivers door motor wires so it locked the drivers door thus tripping the switch and locking the other doors.

Quite simple yet effective.
