Bobtail it!!!! :D :D :D

I just did mine - love it! still have the style side hence not a cop magnet and no need to tie EVERYTHING down but no hitting at the rear on exit angle.

CHeck out my thread. i think its called "welder needed! "

If you do it yourself, depending on what design you go for and what materials you use anywhere from $300 - $600. Getting someone to make it for you could be well over $1000 or more.

I modified the old rusty one i already had, cost me around $350 plus 4 days labour. Check it out in this thread...

If you want more detailed pics let me know.

Slayer, what program are you using to design your tray? Looks good.

hey guys, im currently making my dual cab tray now, and the dimensions are 1600mm wide, and 1300mm long do you think those dimensions are a bit queer? like every other tray ive seen is wider, and like usually a bit longer i just dont want some fucked up looking tray.

also nice design mine is very similiar, i used Vector Works 10 for my design, Ill get a pic off my laptop when I can and post it up.

You must be really really small to fit in a hilux that small. ;) Nice tray design though.

ahaha mate u know what i mean, the tray in real life will be 1500 long so i drew it 1500 long in the program, whats wrong with that..

anyways thanks for the thumbs up.. still duno about the bars runnin back to the rear.. might leave them out for now.. and also think ill put a peice of checkerplate between the base and the crossbar at the frontto protect the back of the cab.. still in the design process untill the week after next tho :)

Mate, my dual cab tray is 1600 wide (suits bodywidth perfectly) and 1240mm long but with the chassis cut back to the shackles.

All in all 1600 x 1300 should be fine mate ;)

That post is hilarious Paul, you actually managed to mix the two trays you were scamming on together and it looks shit hot, now put it in practise

JUST DO IT!!, BOTH OF YOU! - IT ROCKS, but it doesn't hit any. I took 400mm out of mine and i can nearly back up a 90 degree lift (nearly, probably about 80 degrees in reality) i am so stoked with it :D looks super tuff also :D

not only after shortened tray, but im also doin it for the customness, roll bar n all that stuff, most trays look like they should be on a builders triton or sumthin.. so u can get a meaner lookin arangement by buildin your own.. :)
