no bullbar

Post by 40 lover »

was wondering if its legal (in NSW) to drive around without a bull bar on

i.e. just the bare chassis

truck is 40 series, and yes the chassis does stick out alot.

and i wanna get the farm gate off it asap, then ill organise some sort of other bar.

is this legal?? and if it isnt, will the bacon really care, it wont be bare for too long i dont think.

cheers

Dont know about the legalities. But how about just getting the grinder out. Cut up the current 4poster, so all your left with is a bumber.

pretty sure if you are gunna leave the chassis arms hanging out the front of your 40 that in the case of an accident you will end up in jail.......not worth the risk mate.... at the very least you will need to have some sort of protection across the rails.....such as a flat plate or a bit of angle or as suggested cut the current bar up to leave a bumper....

If it were me, I'd leave what ever bar I had on there till I got another to replace it. Then do what ever it is you wanted to do with the old one.

and if you know anything about me.... im lazy when it comes to fixing things.

so getting the bar off it, will give me motivation to organise another one to put on.

mmmm... i like the aproach already  [/quote]

Legal? No.
Does bacon care? Yes.

Just wait for your finished, it's not as though your going to get that much more from removing it. If you want I have a nice piece of steel that was to be used as a rear bar for the MQ. It'll do the 40 quite well. You can have it providing you come and pick it up!

i like MY45's design, of the bar just covering the chassis rails,

but my ideas are revolving around that but with tube.
