Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Anyway, whilst wheeling in Labatouche on sunday night, i snapped my speedo cable at the connector which is just behind the bellhousing.

there are 2 wires coming from the speedosensor (green & black) and i need to know which way they connect to the other 2 wires. the other two are grey and blue which join into a protective covering with other electrical wires.

another question is, can i just use simple connectors and put tape around them, or do i need a special type of connector?

Probably better to solder and put shrink wrap around them.
