front bearing setup GQ

Post by familybus »

gday guys! just wondering if anyone has a detailed pic of the bearing setup for a GQ! reason being, i renewd bearings and brakes on the front of my mav and found a ring just behind the last peice that goes on before the final outer casing with the allan keys in it, it was on the left side but not the right and it made it hard to put the little clip on the holds the last bit on so we didnt bother trying to get it back in instead opting to chuc out the outer ring thingy! when engaged in 4LOW it makes a clunking noise when climbing but when in either 4 or 2 high, its fine! what im guessing is that the shafts have to be in a certain position so as to be able to push the last bit in with the ring in there and put the clip on maybe? and maybe that ring was to stabilize the the second last bit so it doesnt skip teeth? please if anyone knows the trick to it please let me know! thanks guys

You need that little"C" clip on both sides dude.
Dont expect mere proof to sway my opinion.
