I reckon you have a loose wire causing it to stop.does it still have spark when it stops ? The overheating could be a lot of things, fans, radiator, thermostat, water pump.

Why is it everytime some-one fits a holley they expect it to work like a dream come true......

Holleys are shyte carbys in standard form when used in "offroad" conditions..... either get it modified to suit off road use or left hand right shoulder the thing !....Rochesters are far better for offroad use in standard form too by the way !

Another thing that puzzles the hell out of me is "why people fit Holleys???", do you seriously think GMH / Ford/ etc would spend thousands of dollars and time developing a carby that you you simply toss aside to fit a holley.....logical its certainly not !

As for the overheating and dead engine issues, you have other issues with the setup that are causing these problems.....
We need more info to assist with solving the problems.
IE:
when it "dies" do you have
spark?, fuel?, power? ......

when it over heats
is there a bigger radiator fitted?, is the botom hose sucked in?, are you running additional thermo fans?, are you running an engine fan?, is it dumping water?,

the holly curby was on it when i got the car so i did not put it on
whan it turns it self off it has power cos all i do is turn the key and after a sec or two it turns back on its like it flowds its self i am running additional thermo fans they are on all the time as soon i turn the car on its not dumping water but the heat on the dash is half way as soon as i tuen the car on evan when its cold so i think its foulty but it go's to the red when i am off road and it never go's to the red when i am on the road thats all i can think of at the moment any help will do

p.s the car was sitting for a year till i got to it so the person said i may need a check over

I think your temp gauge or sender is not working.
I have a similar problem the gauge goes to halfway and the sender is not even connected.
If it is flooding from the carby it would be hard to start and blow heaps of black smoke when it does start.
All the holley will need to make it work offroad is a spring-loaded needle & seat and vent extension I have these fitted to a 750 and you can drive at any angle.
I would at the electrical side. :?:
I'm not stuck I'm over here!
Watch where you driven!!!

Is the motor getting hot or is the guage reading incorrectly ? Are you using the standard Hilux guage ? If you are put in an extra guage & see what it reads. It still sounds like an electrical fault making it stall. Check for spark when it stops.
