2.8TD Snorkel and Dual battery
2.8TD Snorkel and Dual battery
Hi Guys
I have a 2.8TD Patrol and im trying to work out the cheapest way to put a snorkel on. I dont want to fit a safari 2.8TD snorkel as the cost $700 because you have to change you airbox. Im thinking of either moving and making a new inlet into the airbox and using a standard diesel GQ snorkel. Or getting some other airbox.
Second problem. I really would like to fit a 4.2 Diesel dual battery tray. You cant with the safari snorkel airbox. You can get a battery tray that goes in the back right hand of the engine bay (looking as you open bonnet) but the battery will be pretty small.
Just wondering if anyone has got any ideas.
Cheers
Jason

Win if you can, Loose if you must, but never give up !!!!
i had a 2.8 and converted to a 4.2.
Its my opinion that u can use any airbox you want, If its possible to run a late model GU airbox which looks like a 4.2 diesel precleaner out of the turbo models from the wreckers and then you'll be able to run the battery tray as it doesnt interfere with it.
Snorkel - u could always run a stainless steel exhaust tube with some 90 degree rubber bends. - budget way and seems to go alright
just my 2c
