Legalities of going doorless?

Post by OldGold »

Did a quick search but couldn't find anything...

Not that it's the safest or smartest idea, but how illegal is driving without doors? Jeep guys get away with it, I was just curious if there's laws against it?

Cheers,
Neil.

While we're on the topic, could anyone post up some pics of the awesome looking tube doors that were on a rig from Pirate?

I searched, there's a thread on it but the pics don't work anymore, and they don't seem to work on pirate anymore either.

on another hijacking note, those sliders on the pics above look pi$$ easy to make, how do you guys reckon they would go for rust under that angle tho?

There's really good pictures of the design on this page. http://www.izook.com/reviews/shrockbars/shrockbars.htm

They look pretty easy to replicate.

And flyinwall, yeah I think that's them, the doors look different but they're on the same car.. must be a newer design.

Bazooked mounted his sliders onto his body and when he slid on them they just dented in under his doors so i wouldnt do it.

back on the original topic...

i often run no doors still, and since my original thread about going doorless, i did get pulled over once by the cops and they sussed out my car pretty bad. they asked where my doors were, i said " they're at home, they just lift off, they're removable". they didn't have a problem with that. just made made me fix my rear lights which had all just blacked out at the time.
so in my opinon go doorless if it floats your boat. i do however more often run my half doors then no doors at all just cause it safer.
