engine will not start

hi all
well after fitting my applause engine it will not start
i have no ecu light on the dash but all others work (bat/oil)
engine tuns over ok all fusers seem ok
any one know how to test the ecu to see if the power is geting thery
car started before i swaped engine

Which ECU and loom are you using? Did you change anything in that area?

its the same ecu (sportrak and loom) i have not changed this

Have you got a digital multimeter and a copy of the service manual ?...... time to start checking for permanent and ignition ön" 12V at the ECU.

Check to make sure you haven't missed any of the earths on the engine too.

thankx murcod yes i do have a service manual

found one dead wire got it started but ticks over at 3000 revs

i used the applause injectors and dizzy

Is that 3000RPM with the throttle closed (ie should be idling?)

Did you use the Applause or Sportrak inlet manifold/ throttle body?

hi
fixed tick over it was sucking air

i used the sportak manifold with the applause throtle body

as the applauses inletmanfold has nowere for the small pipe to go to from the top of the rad of the sportrak

Does the Applause throttle body have the air bypass valve to control the idle speed? It's the thing that hangs off the bottom of the tb with the two coolant pipes running to it.

Don't suppose you know if the Applause one is a larger internal diameter at all? Possibly could give you more power if it is....
