SPOA with 3/4 (buggyleaf) is it workable??

ive been serching and cant find any answers.
a mate and i are looking to do up his s3 landrover as a toy and weve been thinking about doing this. would like the spoa for clearance and the 3/4 for rear flex. front would probably be spoa with parabolics and extended shackles.
your thourghts please

i posted up a while back bout 3/4 spoa the guys reckoned its real spooky on hill climbs
would flex real good but unload badly on side slopes.hope this helps.

I reckon they probably dont know how to drive
The 3/4 rear on mine is great but withe the soa you definantly need a track bar. Ive had no unloading issues and love the extra travle it gives. The conversion cost almost nothing as well.

The cars I have seen spoa and 3/4 have been a bit spooky on climbs, and they know how to drive.

Design wise all that I have seen, run a four link on the rear.

i just run really stiff coils and have a high roll center is why it dosent flex much

As tim said it would bind unless it was perfect as the links and the springs would have differant arc radius's. A track bar will be fine. Also missing link is a LOT differant to 3/4 eliptic as in 3/4 there is still a spring the axel has to fight against to flex, which would mean its not nearly as scary. But in saying that i have never had any seat time in a 4x4 with a 3/4 missing link setup.

remember too i only have a standard wheel base thats why it didnt suit me bout 80in i think

Sounds like a very valid point roc box wheelbase and stability go together so mabey on a swb zook the 3/4 setup it a bit freaky. Just lengthen it out when you do the 3/4 conversion

HAHAHA mines only a swb that i lengthend, about 97.5" but thats alot longer then 80

Here is a pic of my 3/4 setup in action..... Some people can 3/4 elliptic buggy but i think u mean just an arm instead of a spring?
