2.8 GU with rock hoppers

Post by snatch »

A customer of ours is looking to fit rock hopper reduction gearing to a 2.8 turbo diesel GU 1999 model. I know that you will respond with buy a 4.2 but this truck is in exceptional condition and it already has alot of money spent on it.

The idea behind the reduction is so that we can fit 35s or 36s on it and still have the power to ascend steep hill sections. He is not chasing speed, infact the opposite he is looking to achieve low speed control. He is interested in hearing from anyone who has installed rock hoppers to a 2.8 turbo diesel GU.

Regards,

Snatch.

I would say second best.
The best would be an engine swap.
