I'm replacing the front diff in my 95 GQ and have puchased new swivel hub bearings however my normal parts supplier couldn't source the seals that sit above and below the swivel bearings. The ones below are a flat disc with a rubber seal around the edge and need to be removed to tap out the old bearing shell (which is hard to do withour destroying them) and the other seal is the one that sits above the main part of the swivel bearing.
Do I need to run these or can I get away with not running them as I don't recall them being on previous toyotas and stuff that I have worked on.
If I need to run them is there a method of getting them out (bottom ones) or getting the bearing off (top ones) without damaging them? If they need to be replaced are they available aftermarket somewhere other than where my parts guy gets his stuff from or do I need to be calling my local Nissan dealer?
Cheers
Simo
