is it possible that when the headlight bulb blows you have to replace the entire light, glass and all and not just the globe, it looks completely sealed as one unit. but i do need to clean around it to see prop. any ideas?

Yes the early GQs all came out with sealed beams, most people do a conversion to Halogen headlights.

local auto parts place, if i remember correctly you need 7" round H4 lights and new bulbs, then just install and plug in,

I've got 2 sealed beam lights here if you want them $ 10 each
