I would check out the fault codes. To do this you need to do the following.
turn key off.
Pull gear level to first, turn power switch on.
Put gear lever to second, turn power switch off.
Put gear lever to D, turn power switch on and press accelerator pedal to the
floor.
After that the power light on the dash will flash 10 times. The first flash
will be long then there should be 10 short flashes unless there is a
problem. If there is a fault then there will be a long flash, work out which
one this is (i.e. 1 to 10 or maybe more than one fault).
Once you've done this you will have a starting point, but you'll shill have
a bit to do. Mine always says it has a TPS fault except it has a new (plus
tried 2 second hand ones) TPS and new wiring from TPS to computer.
Some of these faults can be very tricky.
The computer is behind the passenger kick panel. It has about 20 wires
feeding in and out. (2 long plugs)
